Monaco signs veteran forward Adrien Moerman

AS Monaco Basket completed another great move with the signing of the veteran forward and back-to-back to EuroLeague Adrien Moerman. He joined Efes in 2018 and helped the club win multiple domestic titles aside of the EuroLeague success.

The experienced forward has logged 223 appearances with his debut dating back to the 2009-10 season with the French side Orleans Loiret Basket. Moerman also had stints with FC Barcelona and Darussafaka before joining Efes. He signed a 1+1 deal with the Roca Team.

“I really wanted to play in the EuroLeague again,” the veteran said. At 34, I still want to challenge myself physically. I feel good, healthy, and I really wanted to take up this challenge.”

Monaco is coming off a historic season where the club made the EuroLeague postseason for the first time in the history of the organization. Moerman wants to help the club build on the last season’s success.

“Discussing the Monégasque project with the president and the general manager, I saw what they wanted to do and build. So, it was really close to my heart to come to Monaco. For a competitor like me, it really is the ideal situation.”

With an increased budget already set for next season, Monaco has a strong offseason adding Jaron Blossomgame, John Brown III, Jordan Loyd, Elie Okobo, and Matthew Strazel the last week.

The club also retained key components of last season’s success with resigning Alpha Diallo, Donta Hall, Mike James, Yakuba Ouattara, and head coach Sasha Obradovic.
