Jalen Brunson reveals why he turned down Mavs’ extension offer last season

Jalen Brunson had the opportunity to agree to a contract extension with the Dallas Mavericks last season.

However, he turned down Dallas’ offer in order to test free agency and eventually agree to a deal with the New York Knicks.

During his appearance on JJ Redick’s The Old Man & The Three podcast, the 25-year-old guard revealed why he refused to sign the Mavs’ offer.

“By then, it was too late. The business came knocking at the door. It was time to at least look. I had to do my due diligence and look,” Jalen Brunson said, via The News & Observer.
