Karl-Anthony Towns knows the Minnesota Timberwolves have a great chance to fight for the championship next season.

The superstar big man stated that the Timberwolves have no excuses this season and it will be a failure if they don’t win the title.

“It’s go time. The [Rudy Gobert] trade happens. There’s no more time. There are no more excuses. We’ve got to get it done now. It’s championship now or bust. Got to go out there and get the job done.

I expect a lot of winning for sure. I’m not up here just blowing smoke. I really want to try and bring a championship to Minnesota.

I think that Rudy adds a huge component to that. He’s going to be a massive part of us being a championship team,” Karl-Anthony Towns told media on Friday.

Minnesota recently made a blockbuster trade and landed superstar big man Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz. Following the trade, the Timberwolves have their own Big Four in Towns, Gobert, Anthony Edwards and D’Angelo Russell.

For his part, Karl-Anthony Towns recently agreed to a four-year, supermax contract extension with the franchise, worth $224M.

Towns averaged 24.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists in the 2021/22 season, leading the Timberwolves to the playoffs.
