EuroLeague star Mike James asks for a shortened regular season

EuroLeague superstar guard Mike James took to Twitter and asked for a shortened regular season in all competitions.

The star guard of Monaco believes a longer offseason will heavily benefit athletes who want to rest and work on their game.

“This summer has been good work so far but I can’t help but notice it’s almost over. We have to find a way to shorten the regular season. Players need a longer offseason to get their body right and work on their game,” Mike James tweeted.

The American guard and Monaco finished the season on June 25. In mid-August, they will start preparing for the coming season.

Several EuroLeague players will miss their teams’ preparation because of the FIBA EuroBasket (September 1-18). After its completion, they will take some time off and will then get ready for the start of the EuroLeague on October 6.

Mike James recently re-signed with the Monegasques until 2024. He has his sights set on leading the team to the EuroLeague Final Four.

So far, Monaco has signed six players and has agreed to contract extensions with James, Donta Hall, head coach Sasa Obradovic, Alpha Diallo and Yakuba Ouattara.
