Giannis Antetokounmpo headlines Greece’s 23-man preliminary roster for FIBA EuroBasket

Giannis Antetokounmpo headlines the 23-man preliminary roster of Greece for the FIBA EuroBasket (September 1-18).

The “Greek Freak” returns to a major tournament with the national team for the first time since the 2019 Basketball World Cup. His brothers (Thanasis, Kostas and Alex) are also part of the roster.

EuroLeague stars Kostas Papanikolaou, Ioannis Papapetrou, Kostas Sloukas, Nick Calathes and Giorgos Papagiannis will join the team as well. Newly-acquired Dallas Mavericks guard Tyler Dorsey is also among the 23 players that will participate in the training camp.

Greece will tip off its training camp on Monday, August 1. After a series of preparation games, they will take on Serbia (August 25) and Belgium (August 28) in the second round of the Basketball World Cup Qualifiers.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece will then travel to Milano for the group stage of the EuroBasket, where they will take on hosts Italy, Estonia, Great Britain, Ukraine and Croatia.
