EuroLeague Rumors: Virtus Bologna terminates Ekpe Udoh’s contract

Virtus Bologna has exercised the exit clause in Ekpe Udoh’s contract and the EuroLeague returnee will part ways with the veteran center, per Italian media outlet Il Corriere di Bologna (h/t Sportando).

Udoh had a rough patch in his return to the European basketball last season suffering a knee injury during Italian Supercup quarterfinal match between Virtus and Bertram Tortona.

He suffered a complete tear to the patellar tendon of his left knee and missed the rest of the year recovering tom the injury. Before coming back to play for Virtus, Udoh’s last season in Europe was in 2017 when he was named Euroleague Final-Four MVP with Fener.

Prior to Bologna, he played in China for two seasons, while he also had a two-year stint with the Utah Jazz returning to the NBA. Bologna is preparing to return to EuroLeague after 14 seasons.
