Kristaps Porzingis returns to Latvian NT ahead of World Cup qualifiers

Five years since he last appeared with his national team, Kristaps Porzingis will re-join Latvia ahead of the 4th window of the FIBA Baskeball World Cup qualifiers. Porzingis, 26, last appeared with his home country in EuroBasket 2017.

The Latvian forward/center is eligible to join the national team for practice on August 4, according to the standing FIBA-NBA insurance policy. He will also feature in friendly prep games leading up to the World Cup Qualifiers.

“Five years have passed since I last wore the jersey of the national team. I can’t wait to do it again to enjoy basketball with my teammates and sing the national anthem along with the fans” Porzingis stated.
