Bayern Munich has made another strong addition to its roster ahead of the 2022-23, signing point guard Cassius Winston. Winston had a very successful collegiate career before making it to the NBA spending the last two seasons with the Washington Wizards.

Winston was selected at the back end of the 2020 NBA Draft after finishing strong a four-year run with Michigan State averaging 18.8 and 18.6 points per game in the last two seasons, respectively.

โ€œCassius is a real combo guard who can play both perimeter positions,โ€ said Bayern sporting director Daniele Baiesi.

โ€œWith his package, he ideally expands our existing backcourt with his playmaking, creativity and scoring. He has been tested in the NBA after leading the high-level program at Michigan State University.

Despite his young age, he already has a great basketball personality.โ€

Winston started his career on a two-way contract with the Washington Wizards after playing for the Summer League. He spent most of his first season in G League with the New Orleans Pelicansโ€™ Erie BayHawks.

He averaged 13.4 points and 5.1 assists last season. Most recently, the new Bayern guard played for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Summer League, in the five games he drew attention with an average of almost ten points and seven assists.

โ€œIโ€™m a real playmaker who knows how to win games and who will give my all every night. I just do everything it needs to be done to win,โ€ Winston said after signing his contract for the 2022-23 season.
