EuroLeague Blog: 3 top players still available in free agency

Like the NBA, most EuroLeague teams are close to completing their rosters, but there are still some top players available in free agency.

In the following article, we present three players that are still free agents and seek to sign their next contract in the competition.

Tornike Shengelia

A nine-year EuroLeague veteran, Tornike Shengelia parted ways with Virtus Bologna a few weeks ago and remains the hottest name in the market.

He has attracted interest from several EuroLeague teams, but he is also eyeing a return to the NBA after 8 years (2012-2014).

Shengelia started the season with CSKA Moscow, but left the Muscovites after Russia’s invasion to Ukraine. He then joined Virtus and led the Italians to the 2022 EuroCup title.

Whoever picks him will significantly bolster their roster ahead of the coming season, while a return to Virtus is not out of the question.

The Georgian power forward averaged 12.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists with CSKA Moscow as well as 7.2 points, 6.2 boards and 3.2 assists in the EuroCup regular season.

Chris Singleton

Chris Singleton parted ways with Anadolu Efes after three years and is still a free agent. The American power forward/center won back-to-back EuroLeague championships with the Turkish powerhouse and was a key member of the Turks’ second unit.

He is an experienced and valuable big man that can make the difference on both ends while playing limited time. Like Shengelia, whoever signs him will boost their frontline.

Chris Singleton averaged 3.9 points and 2.8 boards in the competition last season.

Dwayne Bacon

Following his debut season in the EuroLeague with Monaco, Dwayne Bacon has attracted significant interest from EuroLeague teams.

However, some rumors regarding his character and off-court performance have made teams hesitant to finalize a deal with the 26-year-old guard/forward.

His incredible shooting skills and all-around performance will be key for the team that will ink him. Last season, he averaged 14 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists, helping the Monegasques reach the EuroLeague playoffs in their maiden appearance in the league.
