Nets still hoping Kevin Durant rescinds trade request

Kevin Durant has requested a trade four weeks ago but nothing came to fruition yet as the Brooklyn Nets’ demands are pretty high.According to ESPN, the Nets are hoping Durant changes his mind and remains in Brooklyn.

There is no true package that will make Brooklyn accept a trade for player in Durant’s caliber. Durant’s talent and contract make him a very difficult player to deal away and potential suitors will have to build a new team around Durant.

Despite the high asking price, teams such as the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics have remained in the Durant trade discussions. Miami has been rumored to be offering a Tyler Herro or possibly even Kyle Lowry-trade package to acquire KD.

Meanwhile, the Celtics offered a package centered around Jaylen Brown but they didn’t have the right mix of draft compensation and young prospects to offer. Durant is certainly still liable to be traded if the Nets receive the right offer.

However, no team is willing to risk its future for four years of an aging superstar that dealt with injuries the last few seasons. Kyrie Irving is also still a member of the Nets. He also wanted a trade, but Brooklyn has yet to find a team willing to give up assets for the guard.
