Panathinaikos announces pre-season tournament featuring elite EuroLeague clubs

Panathinaikos officially announced on Saturday that they will host a pre-season tournament in late September (23-24).

The “Greens” will host the “Pavlos Giannakopoulos” tournament in Athens for a fourth time in the last five years (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022).

This time, the tournament will feature some elite EuroLeague clubs in Maccabi Tel-Aviv, back-to-back champions Anadolu Efes and Armani Milano.

This will most likely be the final pre-season tournament for all four teams, with the 2022/23 season officially tipping off in the first days of October.

Last but not least, Pavlos Giannakopoulos was the legendary owner and president of Panathinaikos, helping the “Greens” claim 6 EuroLeague titles, 13 Greek Championships, and 9 Greek Cups.
