Brooklyn Nets has yet to materialize a trade for Kevin Durant after the latter asked out of the organization just before the start of the 2022 NBA free agency. The Nets are asking for the sun and moon in any Durant trade.

Aside from a hefty draft compensation, they are also reportedly seeking a superstar-caliber player and a young rising star in exchange for KD. “What I’m hearing is that KD is going to meet with the owner this week,” a league executive told Steve Bulpett of Heavy Sports.

The Nets have engaged in trade talks, with the Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat reportedly in the mix to make an offer for Durant. Recently, reports of a potential deal with the Celtics have gained momentum.

Boston offered a package centered around star forward Jaylen Brown according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. The Nets reportedly countered with the deal involving the Celtics to include Brown, Marcus Smart, draft picks and one more rotation player.

Durant is owned 190 million over the next four years after signing a supermax extension last season. As it stands, the Nets will be bringing back the bulk of their roster for next season, with Ben Simmons expected to return to the court after a long layoff.

In addition, Kyrie Irving is still on the team after opting in his $37 million player option for 2022-23. The Nets training camp is set to open around September 26.
