Willy Hernangomez says Spain NT does not afraid any team ahead of EuroBasket 2022

FIBA released a power ranking for the EuroBasket 2022 several days ago and Spain was ranked sixth with less than a month remaining for the start of the competition. The national team will have some new faces during the upcoming competition.

“We are not afraid of anyone, we are a unit and we have worldwide respect for what we have achieved and what we continue to show,” big man Willy Hernangomez said to the media (h/t BasketNews.com).

The Spanish NT has steadily being among the best teams in the world the last 15 years and despite the lack veteran leaders like Ricky Rubio and Marc Gasol, the team hopes to make some noise again in the EuroBasket 2022.

“The noise from outside is always going to exist, some years we are favorites, and others we are not in the pools, as happened in the World Cup”, Hernangomez continued.

Spain will travel to Tbilisi in late August to take on hosts Georgia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Turkey and Belgium in Group A of the EuroBasket.
