Jayson Tatum could be eligible for supermax extension in 2024 offseason

Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum will have two goals to achieve entering the 2022/23 NBA season.

Not only will he have his sights set on leading the Celtics to the championship, but he will also attempt to make the All-NBA team.

If he does so, he will become eligible to a five-year, supermax contract extension in the 2024 offseason, worth $298M.

Last season, Jayson Tatum averaged 26.9 points (on 45.3% shooting), 8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game, helping Boston return to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010.

As a result of his impressive performance, the superstar forward was part of the All-NBA First Team. Tatum still has three years and $104.5M left on his current contract with the Celtics.
