Usman Garuba could be unavailable for Spain in the upcoming FIBA EuroBasket in September (1-18).
The Spanish big man of the Houston Rockets got injured in the NBA Summer League in mid-July and remains doubtful for the tournament.
Garuba joined the training camp of Spain on Sunday and his condition will be monitored on a daily basis.
The young big man is part of the 16-man preliminary roster for the Basketball World Cup Qualifiers and FIBA EuroBasket.

The Spaniards will play a total of four preparation matches against Greece in Athens (August 9) and Madrid (August 11) and against Lithuania in Gran Canaria (August 16) and Vilnius (August 18), respectively.
They will then compete in the first two games of the Second Round of the 2023 Basketball World Cup against Iceland (August 24) and the Netherlands (August 27).
Spain will travel to Tbilisi in late August to take on hosts Georgia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Turkey and Belgium in Group A.
