Jayson Tatum confident about Celtics’ title chances in 2023

Jayson Tatum shared his confidence about the Boston Celtics‘ title chances and whether the franchise can have a second straight championship run.

The superstar guard/forward believes Boston has what it takes to remain on top of the Eastern Conference and make its second straight NBA Finals appearance.

“I am positive that we got the right group that will buy in and we can’t look past anything and just try to coast our way to the Finals,” Jayson Tatum told Jared Weiss of The Athletic.

Especially the addition of Malcolm Brogdon gives the Celtics an ideal Sixth Man player, who can be a game changer coming off the bench as part of the second unit.

“We got this close, and we added two really good players. I think it makes us better,” Tatum added.

The Boston Celtics have been among the strong candidates to trade for Kevin Durant, however Jayson Tatum doesn’t want the franchise to break up its core. He believes team chemistry is very important if Boston aims to have a second consecutive championship run.

The Celtics recently constructed a package around Jaylen Brown in exchange for Durant, but the Nets asked for more and wanted Marcus Smart to become part of the deal as well. Since then, the two sides haven’t proceeded with negotiations further.
