Kevin Durant gives Nets’ owner wild ultimatum to remain in Brooklyn

Kevin Durant met with the owner of the Brooklyn Nets, Joe Tsai, and gave him a wild ultimatum to remain with the team.

The two-time NBA champion insisted on his trade request, but made it clear he will remain with the Nets under one condition.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Kevin Durant told Tsai that he should either trade him or fire Steve Nash and Sean Marks.

Kevin Durant also told Tsai he has zero faith in the direction of the franchise under Nash and Marks.

At the moment, there is no significant interest from teams to trade for Durant, because of the Nets’ extemely high trade demands.

In addition, teams have also no interest to serve as a third or fourth team to facilitate a Durant trade.

It is unlikely for Nets’ owner to keep Durant in the team and part ways with Steve Nash and Sean Marks, therefore we should expect interested teams to re-engage in talks with Brooklyn.

The two-time NBA Finals MVP still has four years and $194.2M left on his current contract.
