Milos Teodosic expected to leave Serbia’s training camp and not play in EuroBasket

Milos Teodosic is expected to leave the training camp of Serbia and not play in the FIBA EuroBasket (September 1-18), according to Mozzart Sport.

Per the report, head coach Svetislav Pesic has decided to cut Milos Teodosic from the preliminary roster. The Basketball Federation is expected to make an official announcement, addressing the situation.

Milos Teodosic has been playing for the national team of Serbia since 2007, but has missed some major FIBA tournaments because of injury.

Teodosic was expected to have a key role in the team’s tactics, however his departure alters Pesic’s plans.

The 19 players that will continue preparing for the tournament are as follows:

Aleksa Avramovic, Nemanja Bjelica, Dejan Davidovac, Ognjen Dobric, Marko Guduric, Marko Jagodic-Kuridza, Ognjen Jaramaz, Nikola Jokic, Nikola Kalinic, Balsa Koprivica, Vladimir Lucic, Vanja Marinkovic, Vasilije Micic, Nikola Milutinov, Nemanja Nedovic, Filip Petrusev, Dusan Ristic, Borisa Simanic and Alen Smailagic

The Serbians will take on Greece (August 25) and Turkey (August 28) in the first two games of the second round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers.

They will then travel to Prague for the group stage of the EuroBasket. They will face the Netherlands, Finland, Poland, Israel and the Czech Republic in Group D.
