Goran Dragic returned to the national team of Slovenia and handed his team the victory over Turkey in a EuroBasket preparation game (104-103).

The star guard of the Chicago Bulls went for 28 points in the contest, while hitting the game-winning shot in overtime.

Dragic and Luka Doncic combined for 51 points for the winners, who continue their preparation for the upcoming EuroBasket (September 1-18).

“I feel awesome. I missed that a lot. The last game I played for Slovenia was here in Istanbul. It is an unbelievable feeling.

I’m older now at 36 so the legs are not so fresh but I still enjoy playing basketball. Happy to be back with my national team,” Goran Dragic told media after the game, via BASKETNEWS.

With Dragic and Doncic headlining the roster, the Slovenians enter the EuroBasket as the grand favorite to repeat. The star guard, though, expects tough competition in the tournament and places Turkey among the top squads.

“The game was awesome. It was ups and downs for both teams. I have to congragulate Turkey,  I think they have all 5 positions covered.

Both teams played hard. They gonna be very good. Thoughest Eurobasket so far with all those high quality players coming,” Goran Dragic added.

Slovenia will wrap up its preparation next week and will face Eastonia (August 25) and Germany (August 28) in the tip-off of the Second Round of the Basketball World Cup Qualifiers.

They will then travel to Cologne in late August and will take on Lithuania, Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany, and France in the group stage of the EuroBasket (Group B).
