Greece has officially announced the team captains for the upcoming FIBA EuroBasket (September 1-18).
Kostas Papanikolaou, Nick Calathes and Kostas Sloukas will be the team captains of the squad, which is currently preparing for the tournament.
Papanikolaou has appeared in 121 games with the national team, making his debut in 2009. Calathes also made his debut in 2009 and has played a total of 125 games with the national team. Sloukas has made 107 appearances with Greece, debuting in 2011.

All three of them are expected to be among the leaders of the national team, which aims to return to the top after 13 years.
Greece will play Georgia, Poland and Turkey in Athens in its remaining peparation games (August 17-19). They will then face Serbia (road, August 25) and Belgium (home, August 28) for the Basketball World Cup Qualifiers.
Greece will travel to Milano in late August for the group stage of the EuroBasket, where they will take on hosts Italy, Estonia, Great Britain, Ukraine and Croatia.
