U20 European champion Juan Nunez is reportedly leaving Real Madrid to join the German BBL powerhouse Ratiopharm Ulm, as reported by the Spanish outlet encestando (h/t Marca.com).
The talks between Nunez and Real Madrid had dragged for a very long time, but obviously Ulm can offer a bigger role to the Spaniard, who was recently named MVP in the U20 European Championship.
The promising playmaker led Spain to the U20 European title in July, averaging 11.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.6 steals despite being one of the youngest players in the competition.
Last season, Nuñez played 22 regular season league games with Real Madrid. Despite the short time he saw the floor, his progress was more than evident, especially this summer, where he made his debut with the Spanish NT.
He played in just 10 EuroLeague games, with an average playing time of under five minutes. Next season, he will compete in the EuroCup and the German BBL with Ratiopharm Ulm.
