Greece, Serbia expected to reach the Final – EuroBasket 2022 betting tips

EuroBasket 2022 is highly anticipated by fans all around Europe. NBA and EuroLeague superstars are going to participate this year, making the first tournament of the season really exciting.

Undoubtedly, two of the biggest stars are the most recent NBA MVP award winners, Giannis Antetokounmpo (2019, 2020) and Nikola Jokic (2021, 2022).

Therefore, Greece and Serbia emerge as grand favorites to celebrate EuroBasket 2022. Both teams participate in relatively easy groups in the Group Stage.

The Hellenic national team will face Italy, Croatia, Ukraine, Great Britain and Estonia, while Serbia will play the Czech Republic, Finland, Israel, Poland and Netherlands.

Given the fact that they will both finish first in their group standings, they could potentially meet only in the Final.

The star quality and team spirit these two national teams possess is more than enough in order to reach the championship game.

Besides Giannis Antetokounmpo, players like Kostas Sloukas, Tyler Dorsey and Ioannis Papapetrou are going to contribute a lot for Greece, improving its chances of winning a medal after 2009.

The availability of big man Georgios Papagiannis is something that still concerns head coach Dimitris Itoudis.

For its part, the Serbian team does not lack talent nor experience. Reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic will have great players by his side, like 2022 EuroLeague Final Four MVP Vasilije Micic, Nikola Milutinov and Nemanja Nedovic.

Therefore, my early betting prediction is that both national teams will finish first in their groups (odds at 1.80). Furthermore, I predict that either Greece or Serbia will celebrate this year’s Eurobasket (odds at 2.40).

Value Bets:

  • Greece and Serbia to win their groups (1.80)
  • Greece or Serbia to win Eurobasket 2022 (2.40)
