Serbia has officially announced its captains for the Basketball World Cup Qualifiers and the FIBA EuroBasket.
According to head coach Svetislav Pesic, the team captains for the upcoming games will be Nemanja Bjelica and Vladimir Lucic.
“The captains have been determined. We will have two – Nemanja Bjelica and Vladimir Lucic. That is my wish and the wish of the players,” Pesic told media on Monday.
With Bjelica dealing with injury, it is likely he will miss the upcoming EuroBasket, so Lucic will be the captain in that case.

Serbia has missed several players because of injuries, while Bjelica could also be out. The departure of Milos Teodosic hurts the team, as he has great scoring and passing skills.
The Serbians will take on Greece (August 25) and Turkey (August 28) in the first two games of the second round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers.
They will then travel to Prague for the group stage of the EuroBasket. They will face the Netherlands, Finland, Poland, Israel and the Czech Republic in Group D.
