Almost one month since the Bosnia and Herzegovina basketball federation made known they might be unable to secure funds for the participation of the Men’s and Women’s basketball teams in the upcoming FIBA competition, the government decided to help.
As reported by the AA, Council of Ministers held a session yesterday where it was decided that the government was going to help the basketball federation. The federation will be granted assistance of around 100,000€.
The funds will be used for both the men’s and women’s national teams in EuroBasket 2022 and FIBA Women’s World Cup 2022 respectively. It will be the first time for the Woman’s basketball team to participate in the World Cup.
Bosnia and Herzegovina men’s basketball team is set to play in Group B in EuroBasket against Lithuania, France, Slovenia, Hungary, and Germany.
