The Los Angeles Clippers have a great chance to win the Western Conference and reach the NBA Finals, per Lakers’ legend Derek Fisher.
As Fisher believes, the talent and depth of Clippers’ roster let the franchise enter the season as a legit title contender, unlike the Lakers.
“I think the Clippers have as good of a chance at anybody of coming out of the West. I don’t know if LA is prepared for the Clippers to come out of the West before the Lakers do, but it’s legitimately possible based on the way the teams are currently constructed, and we’re just gonna have to see how the season plays out,” Derek Fisher said in an exclusive interview with All Clippers, via Sports Illustrated.
With Kawhi Leonard and Paul George back healthy, the addition of John Wall and the re-signing of key members of the core, like Nicolas Batum and Ivica Zubac, the Clippers are expected to be a powerhouse in the West, after a disappointing 2021/22 season.
On the other hand, the Lakers still aim to make a blockbuster offseason move, which is not likely to happen soon.
They still want to trade Russell Westbrook and land another superstar, but at the moment Westbrook has a good chance of remaining with the franchise.
In addition, they have plenty of work to do to build their chemistry after hiring Darvin Ham as the new head coach.
The “Battle of LA” will tip off on Thursday October 20, with the Lakers hosting the Clippers at Crypto.com Arena.
