Mike Budenholzer spoke to the Greek media about Giannis Antetokounmpo and the European basketball. The Milwaukee Bucks coach spoke highly of Giannis’ character and the work he’s doing with the Greece NT.
“It’s nice to be here to watch European basketball. There are differences between the NBA and Europe yes, but there are also many similarities. The players are doing a very good job and I’m glad I came to watch the games.”
The Bucks’ head coach traveled to Spain last week to see the game between Spain and Greece in Madrid. He will have the chance to watch Antetokounmpo in action against Poland.
“He is a special person and one of the best I have ever met. He is humble, works hard and does everything for his team. We are lucky to have him in Milwaukee,” the 2021 NBA champions said on Giannis.
Georgia and Turkey are also part of the Acropolis Tournament, which started Wednesday. This will the last three preparation games before the official games for the FIBA World Cup qualifiers kick in.
Greece NT will face Serbia (road, August 25) and Belgium (home, August 28) for the Basketball World Cup Qualifiers, before traveling to Milan for the opening phase of the EuroBasket 2022.
