Jamal Murray plans to make comeback during Nuggets preseason

Jamal Murray missed the entire campaign of the 2021-22 season due to rehabbing an ACL injury, but he’s more than ready to make his comeback. Speaking to media in Australia, Murray revealed he’s planning to play again in the NBA preseason.

The last time Jamal Murray played NBA minutes was all the way back in April 2021. The Nuggets point guard tore his ACL in a game against the Golden State Warriors that had been decided for the most part.

With Michael Porter Jr. also poised to return before the start of the new season, the Nuggets are placed among the teams with the best odds to come out of the Western Conference next year.

The Denver Nuggets will be obviously cautious with Jamal Murray at the start of the year. Expect him to rest on back-to-backs and the coaching staff to carefully allocate his minutes to get him up to speed.

Murray has career averages of 16.3 points, 3.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 30.1 minutes over 345 games with the Nuggets. Before the injury, he averaged 21.2 points, 4.8 assists and four rebounds in 35.5 minutes.

The NBA revealed the calendar of the 2022-23 campaign and the Nuggets will be the most travelled team in the West with 50,000 total miles. Denver will open the season against the Jazz in Utah on 19 October.
