Dallas Mavericks guard Tyler Dorsey had his best game with the Greece NT this summer as he helped the team to down Poland 101-78. After scoring 19 points, the scoring guard spoke about Giannis Antetokounmpo and the confidence they build through training.
“I feel great playing in the National Team. I was absent in the previous years, but now I am with Giannis and I am playing, and I feel very good. I love the fans and Greece is always home for me. I feel at home even though I’m going to Dallas in the new season”.
In the Acropolis Tournament opener, Dorsey posted 19 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists taking advantage of the attention Antetokounmpo was receiving in the offensive end. Antetokounmpo scored 24 points leading the team in scoring once again.
“It’s nice to play with Giannis and the other guys. Giannis is constantly attacking the basket and making passes, where my job is to assist. I was free and took the shots, the opposing defense had built a wall in front of Giannis, and so I had space. We build confidence through training. I am optimistic about EuroBasket, the goal is the medal”.
Dorsey also noted that the team need to work but little by little the Greece NT is improving. The action in Acropolis Tournament continue today with Greece facing Georgia, while Turkey will play against the Polish NT.
“The team is building steadily and slowly to be ready for EuroBasket. We become a team as time goes on. Offensively, we are finding a rhythm in our game, we had a good run. In defense we will find what makes us better. Little by little we are improving,” he told media after the game.
