NBA Rumors: Wizards had “exploratory” discussion with Nets for Kevin Durant

Washington Wizards are hoping to land another star alongside Bradley Beal at some point and they have inquired about Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell, respectively, per Sam Amico of HoopsWire.

Amico reported the Wizards had exploratory discussion with the Brooklyn Nets for a potential trade, but the talks never got far.

In the same report, Amico stated Washington’s pursuit of Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell was “much more aggressive”.

Both trades appear unlikely without Washington being willing to part with Bradley Beal, and that’s not happening either.

Beal recently signed a five-year, $251 million extension which includes a full no-trade clause. The Washington star is being expected to be joined by another star if Wizards can make a trade.

Mitchell on the other side has been actively shopped by the Utah Jazz with the New York Knicks being the primary candidate to acquire him.

Mitchell still has four years and $134.8 million left in his current contract with the Utah Jazz.
