Slovenia trims preliminary roster to 14 players ahead of BWC Qualifiers and EuroBasket

Slovenia has trimmed its preliminary roster to 14 players ahead of the Basketball World Cup Qualifiers and FIBA EuroBasket.

Following the final preparation game vs Croatia, six players left the training camp, namely Sasa Ciani, Gregor Glas, Robert Jurkovic, Jurij Macura, Bine Prepelic and Luka Scuka.

The 14 players that remained with the team are as follows:

Jaka Blazic (Bahcesehir Koleji), Vlatko Cancar (Denver Nuggets), Jakob Cebasek (Leuven Bears), Ziga Dimec (Anwil Włocławek), Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks), Goran Dragic (Chicago Bulls), Zoran Dragic (Cedevita Olimpija), Gregor Hrovat (JDA Dijon), Edo Muric (Cedevita Olimpija), Aleksej Nikolic, Klemen Prepelic (Valencia), Luka Rupnik, Ziga Samar (ALBA Berlin), Mike Tobey (Barcelona)

The reigning champions wrapped up their preparation on Saturday, remaining undefeated in their preparation games.

Next week, they will face Estonia (August 25) and Germany (August 28) in the tip-off of the Second Round of the Qualifiers.

Slovenia will then travel to Cologne in late August and will take on Lithuania, Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany, and France in the group stage of the EuroBasket (Group B).
