Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum revealed he was playing through an undisclosed injury during the 2022 NBA playoffs.

“I played with somewhat of a fracture for two month,” the superstar forward said in an interview with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report.

Jayson Tatum was one of the key members of the Celtics’ deep playoff run, with Boston reaching the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010.

Despite his injury, Tatum played very well in the postseason and was one of the team’s best players. He averaged 26.9 points (on 45.3% shooting), 8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game.

As a result of his impressive performance, the superstar forward was part of the All-NBA First Team. Tatum still has three years and $104.5M left on his current contract with the Celtics.

The addition of Malcolm Brogdon and Danilo Gallinari significantly bolsters the team’s second unit and makes the Celtics one of the favorites to reach the NBA Finals for a second straight year.

For his part, Jayson Tatum has his sights set on elevating his game and playing even better, while he has repeatedly said he doesn’t want the team to break up its core and wants to run it back with the same roster.
