Tomas Satoransky suffers severe right ankle sprain; questionable for FIBA EuroBasket

Tomas Satoransky has suffered a severe sprain in his right ankle and remains questionable for the EuroBasket (September 1-18).

This is what Barcelona officially announced on Tuesday following the medical tests that the Czech star guard underwent.

Tomas Satoransky got injured in the third quarter of the preparation game vs Germany on Friday as he twisted his ankle when driving to the basket. He then left the game and didn’t return.

Satoransky will miss the upcoming Basketball World Cup Qualifiers, with the Czechs facing France (August 24) and Hungary (August 27), respectively.

The national team will host Group D of the EuroBasket in Prague (September 1-8) and will take on Serbia, Israel, Finland, Poland and the Netherlands.

Earlier this summer, the Czech guard left the NBA and made his return to the EuroLeague, signing a four-year contract with the Catalans.
