An Eurocup star, Jarron Blossomgame has joined last season’s newcomer AS Monaco Basket this summer.  The 59th pick of the 2017 NBA Draft from Clemson, he mainly played in the G-League during the first three seasons and made 27 NBA appearances with the Cleveland Cavaliers before coming to Europe.

In Europe, he quickly became a valuable player as the Georgia-born guard was selected in the All-Eurocup First Team with an average of 16.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and a PIR of 19.8, while shooting 41.9 percent from beyond the arc with Ulm last season.

In Monaco, he will be part of a huge project after the Monegasques made the EuroLeague playoffs last season. With also Jordan Loyd in the mix, Monaco can offer a great one-two punch duo in the wing position or even used Blossomgame as the sixth man of the team providing a spark from the bench.

Panagiotis Kalaitzakis- Panathinaikos

Another EuroCup breakout star, Panagiotis Kalaitzakis has all the tools to succeed if he receives enough time on the court with Panathinaikos this season. Starting his career in Greece with Aris Thessalonikis, Kalaitzakis quickly became one of the most sought talented players in Greece.

He spent the past two seasons in Lithuania with Nevezis and Lietkabelis making the leap last season with the latter. He averaged 13.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals in the regular season of EuroCup. He will play alongside his brother Giorgos Kalaitzakis.

A decent scorer off the ball, Kalaitzakis can prove useful and snuck into Panathinaikos’ rotation if he can provide energy and score off the bench. He well away from becoming a EuroLeague starter, but this season can be his leap to the next level as the Greens are hoping to put together a competitive squad this year.

Yam Madar- Partizan Belgrade

Partizan Belgrade is returning to the EuroLeague as a highly ambitious squad led by a EuroLeague legend like Zeljiko Obradovic. Obradovic is known for molding guards to floor generals and he did exactly that with young Israeli guard Yam Madar. The starting playmaker of Partizan has grown rapidly since last season.

Madar showed this growth with the Israeli NT in the EuroBasket 2022 as he averaged 13.4 points and 3.0 assists per contest being the second-leading scorer behind the Washington Wizards young star Deni Avdija. A pure shooter and an improved playmaker Madar averaged 7.4 points along with 2.2 assists and 2.2 rebounds with Partizan last season.

He shot 37 percent from beyond the arc and 54 percent from the field, while also making his free throws on an 81 percent clip in 25 ABA games. Partizan added Dante Exum this summer, but Madar should have a big role in Obradovic offense this season. It remains to be seen if he will carry the EuroBasket momentum in the EuroLeague.

Parker Jackson-Cartwright was a relatively unknown player three years ago. After a quiet college basketball career, Jackson-Cartwright made his professional debut with Cheshire Phoenix and averaged 20.0 points in 12 British League games in the 2019-20 season. He jump to the Second tier French League and was named the MVP of the league.

He received the 2021 LNB Pro B Most Valuable Player award after averaging 15.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game. His performances gave him the chance to make the jump to the bigger stage with Telekom Baskets Bonn. He was second in scoring (20.4 ppg.) and assists (7.0 apg.) in the German League.

He was also named the MVP of the regular season leading Bonn to the top of the standings. Jackson-Cartwright will try to do the same in a relatively young team like ASVEL. He will also be playing alongside Nando De Colo so he will likely pick a thing or two from the veteran guard who has the “know-how” in the EuroLeague level.

Naz Mitrou-Long- Olimpia Milan

Naz Mitrou-Long can definitely score the ball and that’s what he will have to do in Milan under Etore Messina. After an impressive run with Brescia in the LBA, Mitro-Long will make his debut in the EuroLeague. He averaged 17.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 33 games with Germani Brescia last season.

A great shot-creator and an underappreciated playmaker, Mitrou-Long will definetely be one of the highlights in Milan’s 2022-23 star-studded roster. Having to play alongside other veteran guard like Billy Barron and Kevin Pangos (when he joins the team), Milan will have depth and flexibility in the guard position.

With Sergio Rodriguez leaving the team this summer, Mitrou-Long and the rest of the guard tantrum will have to show all-around skill and leadership in order for Milan to return to the EuroLeague Final-4. The team missed the chance last season after losing to Anadolu Efes in the playoffs.
