Ben Simmons is getting ready for his debut with the Brooklyn Nets, six months after initially joined the squad.
The former All-Star underwent back surgery in May and is expected to be ready for the start of training camp and NBA preseason.
At the same time, Ben Simmons has high expectations about the new season and is confident about Brooklyn’s title chances.
“This team right now is just a great fit for what I do and what I bring to the game. I feel like it’s Philly on steroids, kind of, in terms of what we had when you (Redick) were there and Marco (Belinelli) and Ersan (Ilyasova),” Simmons said during his appearance on The Old Man and the Three podcast with JJ Redick.
With Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Seth Curry, Joe Harris, Patty Mills, Royce O’Neale and T.J. Warren in the backcourt line, Ben Simmons, a pass-first player, will have plenty of opportunities to create open shots for his teammates, as the Nets consider using him as a center in small-ball situations.
