Celtics suspend head coach Ime Udoka for the next season

The Boston Celtics have suspended head coach Ime Udoka for the entire 2022/23 season, the team announced on Thursday.

Udoka had an affair with a female employee of the organization, which is a violation of the team’s rules, and will not coach the Celtics this season.

Following the official announcement, coach Udoka shared a statement where he accepts the franchise’s decision and apologises for letting the squad down. Assistant coach Joe Mazzulla has been named the interim head coach and takes over the team for the entire season.
