Khris Middleton shares thoughts on future with the Bucks: “You just never know”

Khris Middleton is an important part of what the Milwaukee Bucks have built the last five years being the obvious co-star alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo. The veteran wing spoke about his future in the organization recenlty.

“For sure. For sure,” Middleton said (on if he wants to remain in Milwaukee). “I think everybody knows that. Even though I know you’re really not supposed to say it for all the reasons out there, but I think everybody knows deep down that I want to stay.”

“But also, you know it’s a business. Things change, things happen. You just never know. For sure I would love to stay. If everything works out…Of course if they give me whatever I want I’m there! I’m there.”

After undergoing surgery for ligament damage in his wrist, Middleton is expected to miss some time for the Bucks early in the 2022-23 season. It may be weeks before see him taking the floor.

Middleton has one more year in his current deal, but he can become a free agent next summer, if he opts out of a player option worth roughly $40 million. With Giannis Antetokounmpo under contract, the Bucks have the means to be a title contender every year.
