FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup: Day 3 Round-Up

In Day 3 of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, Australia and Canada became the second and third team to qualify to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Australia showed their teeth with their most impressive display of the tournament so far as they claimed an eye-catching 69-54 victory against Serbia. Bec Allen led the winners with 16 points and 5 rebounds.

Canada are still unbeaten after they collected their third FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Group B win after beating 68-51 Japan. Bridget Carelton showed out with 19 points for the Canadian team, who showcased another great defensive performance.

France improved to 2-1 and bounced back from their big loss to Canada, by beating Mali 74-59. Sika Kone from Mali was, however, the best player in the game with a monstrous double-double of 18 points and 18 rebounds.
