Monaco has significantly increased its budget for the 2022/23 season, as they aim to become a title contender in the EuroLeague.
According to the French Basketball League (LNB), the Monegasques increased their budget by 47% (14.1M euros last season to 20.7M euros this year), while the payroll for the players increased by 60% (6.7M euros to 10.8M euros).
The Monegasques made several changes to their squad this offseason, bolstering their roster in both the backcourt line and frontline.
More specifically, they re-signed Mike James, Alpha Diallo, Donta Hall, Yakuba Ouattara and head coach Sasa Obradovic. At the same time, they brought in Elie Okobo, Adrien Moerman, John Brown, Jordan Loyd, Matthew Strazel and Jaron Blossomgame.
Monaco has become the first club in French League history to reach the 20M mark, while the median budget is the highest ever recorded, the league announced.
