Fenerbache’s star forward Nemanja Bjelica out for at least 3-4 weeks

Fenerbahce star forward Nemanja Bjelica has suffered a setback in his recovery from a calf injury and he will be out for 3-4 additional weeks, the Turkish club announced earlier.

Fener saw the veteran forward going down with an injury during the preparation for the European championship with Serbia. He missed the EuroBasket 2022 due to the calf issue.

He has yet to make an appearance for Fener, which started the season 4-0. Bjelica had started to train with Fenerbahce after a treatment process, however, Bjelica felt pain in the same spot and has returned to his rehabilitation program.

Bjelica, the 2014-15 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague MVP, spent the past seven seasons in the NBA. He was part of the Golden State Warriors team that won the NBA championship last season.

The Serbian forward will miss another month as Fenerbahce is preparing for a game with the Turkish BSL rivals and reigning EuroLeague champions Anadolu Efes this week in the EuroLeague.
