FC Barcelona ended successfully a tough week as Nicolas Laprovittola had a big game to lead the Catalans to a 92-80 over fellow EuroLeague club Valencia Basket. The Argentinia guard finished with 21 points, four rebounds and four assists.
FC Barcelona took a commanding 15-point (40-55) lead at the end of the first half. Valencia cut the lead in the third, but a flurry of threes from Laprovittola put the game back on track for the visitors.
Chris Jones was the leading scorer for Valencia Basket, which dropped to 3-3 after six games. At the same time, FC Barcelona remained on top with a 5-1 record alongside rivals Real Madrid.
Sergio Llull had 16 points and Real Madrid used a 20-9 run at the start of the game to decimate Fuenlabrada, 91-69. Gabriel Deck followed Real Madrid’s captain with 14 points and nine rebounds.
As Los Blancos started the game strong, Fuenlabrada could not stay close for most of the game. As a result, the Madridistas earned their 5th win in five ACB games and remained tied with FC Barcelona at the top of the standings.
