Isaiah Canaan on Hedgeout.net: “I’ve never lost my confidence”

Following Monday’s victory over rivals Panathinaikos (68-66), Isaiah Canaan spoke with Hedgeout.net about his time with Olympiacos and his performance so far.

The American combo guard shared his excitement about the win over the “Greens”, which was the second straight this season and ninth in a row since 2021 (9-0). Isaiah Canaan had eight points (2/5 from beyond the arc) and three assists in the game.

“I am excited. We won a big rivalry game, which means a lot to this club. It was a good environment, the fans came out, showed their support and we really appreciated it.”

Isaiah Canaan is still adjusting to the “Reds” playing style and is confident he will get better game after game and eventually make the difference for the team. Especially if he plays big minutes.

“I’ve never lost my confidence personally. I can only do what I am given. If I am out there six minutes, I am not Superman, I cannot do too much with six minutes.

Whenever I am called to play, I am giving something positive whether it’s defensively, offensively. I just got to play.”

The 31-year-old guard knows that there is a big difference between Olympiacos’ and UNICS Kazan’s playing styles and believes he will get accustomed to it if he spends significant time on the floor.

“It’s defiinitely a huge difference from the system I am accustomed to, I just feel like they need to trust me a little bit more, I have been playing basketball a lot time, at a high level, just need to be able to go out there and play.”
