Ettore Messina is not optimistic about Armani Milano’s playoff chances, following the home loss to ASVEL Villeurbanne (73-79) on Friday.

This was the fourth straight defeat for the Italians, who remained at the bottom of the EuroLeague standings with a 6-14 record. Meanwhile, ASVEL snapped a five-game losing skid and improved to 7-13.

“We’re done. It’s really hard now trying to turn this situation around, we need to be honest and admit it. Let’s leave the transfer market alone, the question is closed,” Ettore Messina noted afterwards.

In a season full of ups and downs, Armani Milano has failed to play consistent basketball and remains doubtful whether they could turn things around.

With 14 games left until the end of the regular season, Ettore Messina and his players are five games behind Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Baskonia, who hold the final playoff spots with an 11-9 record. Next week, the Italians will take on Monaco at Salle Gaston Medecin (26/01).
