Rui Hachimura could make Lakers debut Wednesday vs Spurs

Rui Hachimura joined the LA Lakers via a trade from the Washington Wizards on Monday and is ready for his debut with his new team.

Per Jovan Buha of The Athletic, the Japanese forward could make his first appearance with his new team in the home game vs the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.

Rui Hachimura, who was the No.9 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, appeared in 30 games for the Wizards this season, all off the bench, averaging 13 points and 4.3 rebounds, on 49% from the field and 34% from beyond the arc.

To complete the deal, the Lakers sent three second-round picks and guard Kendrick Nunn to Washington.

The Lakers are 12th in the West standings at 22-25, just one game behind the reigning champions, Golden State Warriors, who hold the final play-in spot (23-24). Meanwhile, Washington is 12th in the East (20-26), two games behind the Chicago Bulls (22-24).
