The Japanese forward, who was the No.9 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, appeared in 30 games for the Wizards this season, all off the bench, averaging 13 points and 4.3 rebounds, on 49% from the field and 34% from beyond the arc.
On the other hand, Kendrick Nunn, who missed the entire 2021/22 season with a knee injury, played 39 games this year, only two as a starter, and averaged 6.7 points.
The Lakers are 12th in the West standings at 22-25, just one game behind the reigning champions, Golden State Warriors, who hold the final play-in spot (23-24). Meanwhile, Washington is 12th in the East (20-26), 1.5 games behind the Chicago Bulls (21-24).
