Ergin Ataman was very disappointed about the performance of Will Clyburn and Vasilije Micic after the road loss to Olympiacos (76-70).
The head coach of the two-time, reigning EuroLeague champions called out the two superstars, who struggled offensively, courtesy of the “Reds” defense.
Will Clyburn had just eight points, on 4/13 shooting, along with five rebounds, while Vasilije Micic posted 10 points and four assists, on 4/11 shooting.
“We didn’t find anything from our star players offensively. Everybody is saying we have very good offensive players, but these star players we need in these games. Not in Turkish League games against a weak team.
I’m talking about Will Clyburn and Vasilije Micic. We need these star players to find scoring in this game. Our situation is not good right now in the EuroLeague,” Ergin Ataman said afterwards.
Will Clyburn is the leading scorer (17.1 points) and rebounder (5.3 boards) for Anadolu Efes this season. Meanwhile, Vasilije Micic is averaging 16.8 points, 5.8 assists and 3.3 boards, however they both struggled against Olympiacos’ defense.
The two-time defending champions continue to play inconsistently and remain outside of the playoff zone, falling to 11-12 in the standings.
