Former Armani Milano and Panathinaikos big man Dinos Mitoglou will eventually get suspended for two and a half years after testing positive during an anti-doping control.
The incident took place after the game between Panathinaikos and Armani Milano on March 4, 2022 and the player has been out of action since then.
Per the report from SDNA, the Greek forward has the right to appeal to the FIBA sports judge and CAS, which would make the final decision.
However, given that the substance Dinos Mitoglou had taken is one of the heaviest on the WADA-banned substances list, the sanction is expected to remain the same and the Greek big man is expected to return at the start of the 2024/25 season.
