LeBron James makes history after becoming NBA’s all-time scoring leader

LeBron James made history on Tuesday night in the home loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder (133-130) when he became the all-time scoring leader in the NBA.

The four-time NBA champion needed 36 points to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and was unstoppable from the opening tip, breaking the record with 10.9 seconds left in the third quarter.

Eventually, the “King” finished the game with 38 points and seven assists, on 13/20 shooting, on 34 minutes on the floor, as the Lakers fell to 25-30 in the standings.

He now has 38,390 career points.

“To be in the presence of such a legend and great as Kareem, it means so much to me. It’s very humbling,” LeBron James said as the game was stopped for a brief ceremony at center court.

“To everybody who’s ever been a part of this run with me the last 20 years, I just want to say thank you so much. To the NBA … I thank you guys so much for letting me be part of something I’ve always dreamed about. I would never, ever in a million years dreamed it’s better than what it is tonight.”
