Will Clyburn keeps Anadolu Efes alive in playoff race

Will Clyburn did it all for Anadolu Efes in crunch time of the road game vs ASVEL Villeurbanne and kept the two-time reigning champions alive in the playoff race.

In a back-and-forth battle that went down to the final second, Efes stood tall and escaped Astroballe with a crucial win over ASVEL (89-90).

It was Will Clyburn that took over for his team in the final minute, scoring the last four points and poking the ball away from Nando De Colo’s hands on the game’s final possession.

Dee Bost hit a three-pointer and gave the hosts the lead (89-86), but Will Clyburn was perfect from the free-throw line (4/4) in the final 41 seconds, while getting the final defensive stop of the game.

“We are in the last part of the season. Every win is important, especially in these last weeks, and we needed this road win.

It is definitely a boost to our morale and we have to get ready for the next one. Coach did a great job at keeping everybody in shape, keeping everybody in game shape and mentally ready. Congrats to everybody,” the star forward said afterwards.

Clyburn led the winners with 20 points, while Shane Larkin added 16 and Elijah Bryant had 14 and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double in his 121st EuroLeague game. Nando De Colo led the way for ASVEL with 20 points.

Thanks to their victory, Efes got back on track and improved to 12-12 in the standings, staying just a win away from the final playoff spot. On the contrary, ASVEL lost its fourth in a row and fell to 8-17.
