LeBron James set to miss significant time amid Lakers playoff push

LeBron James is expected to miss significant time due to a right foot injury, as the LA Lakers are fighting for a spot in the Western Conference playoffs.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the four-time NBA champion and scoring leader will be out indefinitely and there is still no timetable for his return.

LeBron James re-aggravated his foot injury during Sunday’s road game vs the Dallas Mavericks. Despite playing through the injury and leading his team to a wild comeback vs the Mavs from down 27 (111-108), it seems the injury will sideline him for several weeks.

The Lakers will now have to maintain a playoff push while playing without their best player, who called the last part of the season “23 of the most important games of my career”.

The 17-time NBA champions, who have won their last three games, are currently 12th in the West standings with a 29-32 record, just 0,5 games behind the New Orleans Pelicans, who hold the final play-in spot (30-32).
