Facundo Campazzo disappointed after EuroLeague debut with Crvena Zvezda

Facundo Campazzo was disappointed after his EuroLeague debut with Crvena Zvezda in the road loss to Bayern Munich on Thursday (87-80).

In his first appearance in a Zvezda uniform, the Argentinian guard couldn’t lead his team to a much-needed road win that would boost the Serbians’ playoff chances.

“It was a tough loss. We have to improve as a team when we have an advantage. When we were up by 10 or 9, we couldn’t find our offense and we stopped playing defense,” Facundo Campazzo told Sasa Grujovic from Telegraf.

“We have to try and be positive. We did some right things, we also did some bad things. We have to be positive right now and think about the next ‘final’ against Efes.

I felt happy coming back to the EuroLeague. For me, honestly, it means nothing if we don’t win. This is a team sport and if we win, everyone’s happy. We have to try to improve that,” Campazzo noted.

It was the sixth loss in the last seven games for Crvena Zvezda, as their playoff presence now is in serious jeopardy.

“We have a lot of work to do. We have to change our mentality, be positive, and believe we can win those games. We have a great team, we have to be together and create that team unit. We have to play every game like it’s a final, it’s the only way we can win,” he added.

Facundo Campazzo spent 29 minutes on the floor and went for 16 points and seven assists, on 4/15 shooting. Crvena Zvezda fell to 11-15 and are currently 13th in the EuroLeague standings, 3 wins away from final playoff spot, with eight games to go.
